So, back when I ordered and taste-tested the Popeye's apple pie, I got a couple of other menu items also, including their mashed potatoes.

Remember when I said that KFC is not the exception to underwhelming fast food mashed potatoes? Popeye's is the exception. Also, the gravy is phenomenal.

Egg Mcmuffins are classic and edible while driving.

I agree Popeyes mashed potatoes are great (so is their Mac and cheese) but it's a side vs a main and you can't eat it and drive at the same time.

So, gotta go Mcmuffin. Sorry Popeyes

I was one of those people who for decades said they wished McDonald's would have Egg McMuffins available all day. Then for like five years McDonald's DID have Egg McMuffins available all day! I never got one outside of breakfast time, though. Psych!

I like everything about the egg mcmuffin except the Canadian bacon. Seeing how that's a fairly significant part of it, I gotta vote against it.

I'll take heart it's not the sausage-egg McMuffin and vote for the amazing gravy. (I don't care if the potatoes are instant --- they are--- but the gravy more than makes up for it.)

Swiss McDonalds have a egg and cheeese mcmuffin and a egg and bacon mcmuffin, but with strips of bacon. No canadian bacon, which is the best part.

Right? Plus to my mind the Egg McMuffin is the OG fast food breakfast sandwich, so I process the nature of every other breakfast sandwich as to how it compares. Including the meat, assuming there is any, even though the Egg McMuffin is the only sandwich where Canadian bacon is the best choice.

As in "So you say there's sausage in this completely unrelated breakfast sandwich instead of Canadian bacon? Interesting! You know what? For this completely unrelated breakfast sandwich sausage was the right call. Who'd have guessed?"

I guess I've had too many experiences with rubbery fast food Canadian bacon. I don't have a problem with it in general, just the fast food stuff.

The Egg McMuffin is my go-to fast food breakfast. Sometimes I get a Whataburger taquito, but most of the time it's the standard Egg McMuffin.

I went to Popeye's yesterday and bought the 4-pc meal. I forgot they offer two choices for sides and asked for potatoes. They gave me two servings. It was a fine day in Zeener's world.
